It`s written in the book of Hebrews chapter 9, verse 27, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement.”
God is telling us that this world is not our eternal home. All will face the judgement after death, but His intention was to take to Heaven those who have been washed clean from all of their sins through faith in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
The main subject in this book is the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.
It`s the first book of its time to preach the true and biblical reason as to why Jesus was baptized prior to His crucifixion.
Matthew chapter 3 verses 13-17, records the significant event.
When He was 30 years old, Jesus went to John the Baptist in the Jordan River. Jesus said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness.”
At His Word, John obeyed the Lord, laid his hands on His head, and submerged Him under the water to perform the baptism. And in that moment, the sins of the whole world were transferred onto the body of Jesus, the Lamb of God.
