We will take our reading of from the Book of Psalms to continue our studies. It says:

“But his DELIGHT is in the LAW of the LORD, and in His LAW he MEDITATES day and night. He shall be like a TREE planted by the RIVERS of WATER, that brings fort its FRUIT in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:2-3).

In our previous study, we learnt in detail Psalm 1:1, and we understood the fact that when David says “BLESSED is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the PATH of SINNERS, nor sits in the seat of the scornful” we receive the BLESSING through JESUS CHRIST who came to fulfill all things by delivering us from all our SINS and not by our own effort or acts.

So we are also going to look into details Psalm 1:2 for today, and we take a look at the verse 3 the next day. The verse 2 it says, “But his DELIGHT is in the LAW of the LORD, and in His LAW he MEDITATES day and night.” We must know that in the Old Testament, when people MEDITATED on God’s LAW, the HOLINESS OF THE LORD was revealed whiles their SINFUL NATURE was exposed.

As a result, the “LAW” pointed out their SINS and showed them the remedy for their SINS by BELIEVING in the sacrificial system of atonement which were all pointing to the one time eternal sacrifice of CHRIST. So it was not the “LAW” which BLESSED them, but rather the sacrificial system of the shadow of CHRIST (Hebrews 10:1).

We must therefore know that “the LAW is holy, and the COMMANDMENT holy and just and good” (Romans 7:12). But human beings are not “good,” and that’s why JESUS told a Lawyer that “No one is good but One, that is, God” (Luke 18:19). The Apostle Paul himself who studied as a Lawyer under Gamaliel, also confirmed what JESUS said here with all humility.

He said, “There is none RIGHTEOUS, no, not one; They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one” (Romans 3:10, 12). Therefore if you are a Christian and you read Psalm 1:2 and you misapply it, the Apostle Peter says you are twisting the Scriptures, and the consequence is that you are bringing “destruction” which is eternal judgment to yourself (2 Peter 3:16).

Therefore whether you are an Apostle, a Pastor or a Teacher with PHD, just humble yourself as a Christian because you are not greater than the Apostle Paul. Paul was a scholar in the “LAW,” and he was so knowledgeable and brilliant to the extent that king Festus told him, “Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!” (Acts 26:24).

Yet upon all these, Paul was very humble, and he confessed, “...not having my own RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is from the LAW, but that which is through FAITH in CHRIST, the RIGHTEOUSNESS which is from God by FAITH” (Philippians 3:9). Please pay attention here. Paul says that he didn’t get any RIGHTEOUSNESS from the “LAW,” but it is from God by “FAITH” in JESUS CHRIST.

Concerning the “LAW,” Jesus said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the LAW or the prophets, I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17). Many Christians read this but they don’t understand. And it is one of the passages which the Apostle Peter says people twist it to their own destruction.

When JESUS says He did not come to “to destroy the LAW or the prophets,” it means He came to fulfill all the requirements of the “LAW” and all the prophecies about Himself. My Brothers and Sisters, what does the “LAW” require from us? We all know that the “LAW” wants us to do what is RIGHT. But we also know that human beings are born WRONG (SINFUL) and so they fail miserable even as they are beaten by SIN.

However JESUS came to “fulfill” all the RIGHTEOUS requirements of the “LAW” for us. We must know that the “LAW” points out our SINS, but if JESUS takes away all our SINS, is there any more SIN for the “LAW” to point against us? The answer is emphatically NO!

That’s why when JESUS went to John the Baptist for baptism as “The LAMB of God who takes away the SIN of the world” (John 1:29), He told John, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Matthew 3:15).

As a Christian, just understand the fact that you can only become RIGHTEOUS when JESUS takes away all your SINS upon Himself. You are not RIGHTEOUS because JESUS died on the Cross. Don’t forget that JESUS never committed any SIN deserving of death. Therefore His death would have been meaningless if God had not transferred our SINS on Him in order for the “wages of SIN” which is “death” to be applicable (Romans 6:23).

You don’t have to believe in any Satanic doctrine which says that our SINS were laid on JESUS on the Cross. Is there any Law in this world whereby somebody is punished before he or she commit SINS? It is time for Christian to reason very well in their FAITH.

Isaiah prophesied that JESUS “was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him.., And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquities of us all” (Isaiah 53:5-6). So how can JESUS be beaten, mocked, and tortured before our SINS were laid on Him on the Cross?

Do you punish your child before he commits a SIN? Is there any court in this world whereby a person is prosecuted and declared guilty before he commits a SIN? Does the Law of our country punish someone before he or she commits a crime? Do you want to tell me that when JESUS was going through all those sufferings, He had not yet taken our SINS upon Himself? Common sense and logic will even refute this. That’s why JESUS said that, “WISDOM is justified by her children” (Luke 7:35).

Dearly beloved, it is not your Pastor who was BAPTIZED for you, but it was JESUS CHRIST who did. Therefore if JESUS tells you that during His BAPTISM He fulfilled “all RIGHTEOUSNESS” for you, do you believe in your church doctrine or you believe in what JESUS is saying? Is your Pastor greater than JESUS?

If you really want to escape from the judgement of hell, then you must believe in what JESUS says because He is the Judge. Your pastor is not the judge in the Kingdom of God, but the “authority to execute judgment” has been given to JESUS CHRIST (John 6:26-27). Therefore if He says that He fulfilled “all RIGHTEOUSNESS” for you in His BAPTISM, but a false theologian Pastor is telling you something different and you believe in that, then “woe unto you” (Matthew 23:13).

When we read Philippians, what did Paul say? He said that God RIGHTEOUSNESS cannot be obtained through the “LAW,” but through FAITH. He said, “the RIGHTEOUSNESS which is from God by FAITH.” This means that the BAPTISM which JESUS received from John to fulfill “all RIGHTEOUSNESS” is from God.

That’s why JESUS told the Pharisees, “The baptism of John – where was it from? From heaven or from men? (Luke 21:25). JESUS BAPTISM was planned by Heaven in order to qualify people to enter Heaven by making them RIGHTEOUS. This was the main reason why God was so “pleased” with this act of JESUS (Matthew 3:17). The Baptism of JESUS is not from any pastor for them to tell us whatever they think. It came from God so they should shut up their mouth and listen to what God is saying.

Satan has deceived many theologians, and they are teaching “the doctrine of demons and deceiving spirits” (1 Timothy 4:1). Paul even added that they are “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 3:7).

If you believe in the WATER of JESUS in addition to His BLOOD, you will experience the TRUE LOVE of GOD in your Christian life. And you will understand the Scriptures very well including our readings from Psalm 1:1-3.

Our study continues......

You are BLESSED if you believe in GOD’S TRUTH.
