The righteousness of God Revealed in the Law and the Prophets

I have been inspired by the Lord to read the whole of the book of DEUTERONOMY, HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN SLOW IN DOING SO. whenever I read, there are always fulfilled works of the Lord which are always manifested.

Today I was reading Deut.6:1-25, and stopped at verse 24 and 25 which reads, 24, "And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is this day." 25, "And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us."

The important thing here is that God in the Law and the prophets, expected all of Israel to live with him in righteousness by obeying all the statutes of God to prove that all Israel fear God.

In the New Covenant, all believers are expected to do the same. However, we all have discovered that even though we have believed the Gospel of the righteousness of God, the faith of the Water and the Spirit; we continue to sin against God because of our weaknesses.

But the word of God says we must obey all his commandments. we can see here that we all have fallen short of the glory of God. What then do we see that has recovered believers from this short fall? We see that our Lord made us complete in the faith of His baptism and the Spirit, and we see that "Water", Baptism of our Lord is the righteousness of God to believers.

There is another school that believes in praying prayers of repentance for the forgiveness of sins as a sacrifice to God. This does not replace the eternal sacrifice of our Lord according to Heb.10:26, "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no other sacrifice for sins." So what is a wilful sin? 1jn.5:16, "If any man see his brother sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say he should pray for it." What are sins that leads to death, Wilful sins(Mk.3:29;Heb.6:4;Heb.10:26;Acts.7:51;2Thess1:9).From these scriptures we see that the sins that lead to death is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, not believing the word of God.

Why then do the other schools of thought spend so much time in prayers of repentance for sins? Has Jesus given us freedom from the sin of blasphemy? The answer here is clearly NO. We can see from the above scriptures that God did not remit the sin of blasphemy from the people of Israel, the children of Abraham. The remission that we have received when we sin due to our weaknesses is not for that of blasphemy but all the sins that are not unto death, and so we acknowledge those sins and thank the Lord making us free from the condemnation of sins, so prayers of repentance is unprofitable because there is no other sacrifice for sins than the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, Jesus the righteous.

We see that the righteousness of believers is not of them, but of the Lord and all we have to do is accept the grace of our Lord Jesus by the faith of the gospel of the water and of the Spirit, jn.3:5. It is in the faith of this gospel that believers fulfil all the righteousness of God, Deut.6:24-25.

Some denominations have refused to accept this grace by teaching that the body of sin was put on Jesus when He was on the cross. However, the shadow of the real remission of sins in the book of Leviticus shows that sins must be passed by the sinner unto an unblemished sacrifice of which our Lord was the unblemished sacrifice of God, How could this Law of God be fulfilled if sins were put on our Lord when He was on the cross. Who then would have put the sins on our Lord when He was on the cross knowing that He had no sin at birth. Well our Father in Heaven, the Holy Spirit, Jesus nor the Ministering spirits have no sins; so where did sins come from to be put on Him on the cross? These are the expedient questions that these denominations must answer so that those in such congregations can have the sins in their spirits remitted and begin to walk by faith in the grace of God. Many of these denominations seems to believe that because the old Testament period was closed they do not seem to know that the Law and the prophets is the righteousness of God. The proof of the righteousness of God is derived from the Law and the prophets, and the wider church is ignoring this indispensable wisdom of God that is contained in the words of God.

We must continue to defend the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ knowing that He watches over us and protect His true church, because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, and we are more than conquerors in Him who has called us to glory. Amen
