How do we, who became sinners through the disobedience of one man, Adam, become righteous?

Romans chapters 1–6 show us the person who, while judging others, came to realize his own sin before the law; Abraham, who believed the God who had promised; and the person who was baptized into Christ. These chapters reveal the answer in the obedience of Jesus accomplished through the gospel of the water and the Spirit. The person who believes in his heart in the Lord, who received baptism from John and thereby had even our sins passed on to Him as the sin of the world, who shed His blood on the Cross and was judged in our place because of that sin, and who rose again from death, receives the remission of his lifelong sins and becomes righteous freely. Because the grace of the Lord is greater than the sin and death that came from Adam, even our faults cannot bring down the righteousness of God accomplished through the obedience of One.
