First, We have to understand: what is baptism? it mean: “Salvation of the soul” and born again. This is the only way to get in to the Kingdom of God. As Jesus Christ him self said to the Nicodemus if you want to get in to the kingdom of heaven, unless one is born of water and holy spirit, he can’t enter the kingdom of God. 
Jesus Christ was him self was came in the flesh of man by the Holy spirit through the Mother marry. He took all our sin by being the baptized at river of Jordan by John the baptist, And Jesus bear cross death to take out all the sins of the world. John him self said believe in him, who came out of water and blood. His Death on cross. He had taken final judgment for them in our place.
Today, most people who believe in Jesus do not believe in the water baptism of Jesus, but only believe in His death on the Cross. But will this kind of faith save sinners, or Can redeemed from all our sins or Can it give us salvation? No. We cannot be redeemed before God just by believing in Jesus’ death on the Cross.
