[27-9] (Isaiah 8:19-22) The Gospel Word of the Water and the Spirit Has Saved You from Your Sins

(Isaiah 8:19-22)
“And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward. Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.”

Today’s Scripture reading is about the people of the southern Kingdom of Judah facing enslavement for the sins they committed against God. It teaches us that the spiritual people of Israel suffered under captivity because they did not obey the words of the servants of God and instead stood against them. In other words, God was punishing the people of Israel for the sin of rebellion against Him.
Through the Prophet Isaiah, God warned the people of Judah with His stern Word that they will face His judgment. However, the people of Judah forsook the Word of God that Isaiah relayed to them in His place, and they instead sought the counsel of mediums. In the end, they were taken in captivity by a pagan country just as the Prophet Isaiah had prophesied.
When we examine the sins that explain why the people of Judah had to be enslaved, we see that it is because they were standing against their own God. Rather than seeking to find out God’s will, they trusted the words of false prophets and mediums more than the servants of God. Yet, what the false prophets were counseling the people of Judah did not actually help them at all. The words of the false prophets of the time were not God’s Word of prophecy; they were nothing more than the lying mutters and whispers of shamans.
The fact that the people of Israel sought mediums to ask about God’s will like this means that they had fallen into profound spiritual transgressions and confusion. As those who stood against the Word of God, the people of Judah ultimately ended up spending the rest of their lives without God just like pagans. Seeing this, God could not just leave the people of Israel alone. So, He had to do something to deliver them from their sins. The measure God took was making them endure suffering of sin temporarily to judge their sins, but God’s true purpose was to bestow them with His merciful love. That is because these people were God’s loved ones who had been created in the likeness of His image. Still, God had to raise His whip to punish their sins, but this whip was made of His warm care and love.
The people of Israel had been believing in Yahweh God from the days of their ancestors long ago, but with passing time, they ended up drifting away from Him. By the time of the Prophet Isaiah, their hearts had left God’s Word, and therefore in God’s sight they deserved to be punished for their sins.
In today’s Christianity also, there are increasingly more and more believers whose lives have drifted away from God’s Word, and this phenomenon is because they have fallen into the spirit of the world. Even though they all profess to believe in God as their Savior, in reality they do not follow His Word and are instead standing against it. Today’s Christians all claim that they believe in God as their Savior, but as their faith is seized by their own thoughts according to their own emotions, they have given up on following the Word of Truth in their lives. They have all ended up following their own thoughts. Like this, there are many Christian believers who live by trusting in their own thoughts rather than following the Word of God. This is a matter of fact, so how can it be disputed? And, knowing this fact, how can we, as those who believe in God’s true gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, just watch them and do nothing?
There are many Christians today who are ignoring the Word of God rather than following it. They are not even remotely interested in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that Jesus Christ fulfilled when He came to this earth, even though it is through this gospel that He has saved sinners. It is so tragic to see them spiraling toward their own destruction like this. Because they do not know the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that constitutes the righteousness of God, they are living far away from Him. That is precisely why we want to preach the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to them. Such is our purpose, and I believe that God will help us achieve it. Even though the sad reality is that they are refusing to be led by our faith, our God still wants us to guide them to where they can reach salvation from all the sins of the world.

Are You Now Following the Law and the Testimony?

Let us turn to Isaiah 8:20-23 here:
“To the law and to the testimony!
The Prophet Isaiah said here that the people of Israel ought to follow the Law and the testimony, and if they do not speak according to this God-spoken Word, there is no light in them. Like this, the Prophet Isaiah commanded all of us to submit “to the law and to the testimony.” However, the people of Judah in the days of the Old Testament did not follow the Word of God, nor did they obey His servants.
What, then, are “the law and the testimony” God is speaking to us here? They are all contained in the Word of the “gospel of the water and the Spirit” that God has spoken to all of us. First, the Word of testimony God spoke to us about our salvation testifies about the baptism of Jesus Christ and His death, and this Truth is the only true gospel that saves mankind from sins. The elementary Truth that we must grasp is that the whole world has been full of sins from the days of Adam. Before Jesus Christ came to this earth, people had to blot out their sins by relying on sacrificial lambs. The priests in those days performed sacrifices to fulfill God’s justice by passing all their people’s yearly sins to the lamb through the laying on of hands and offering this sacrificial animal to God. This is how the people of the Old Testament received the remission of sins.
With the arrival of the age of the New Testament, God had to redeem us once and for all from all our past and present sins by sending His only begotten Son to this earth out of His mercy. Therefore, to fulfill this, Jesus had to be baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, through which He accepted our sins, and after this, He had to pay off all the wages of our sins by being crucified and shedding His blood to death. All this work manifests God’s love for us.
The laying on of hands in the age of the Old Testament and the baptism of Jesus Christ in the age of the New Testament are the same, in that both required a sacrificial lamb to pass all our sins to it. Moreover, it was also the same in both Testaments that a man was raised as the representative to pass people’s sins. “The law and the testimony” of God are fulfilled without fail, whether they were spoken to the people of Israel in the Old Testament or to us in the age of the New Testament. This means that every God-spoken Word is fulfilled without exception, leaving not a jot or a tittle unfulfilled, and God’s judgment will follow those who do not believe in His Word of salvation.
Today also, there are many people claiming to have been called to be God’s servants, but the problem is that the gospel Word they are speaking of is not actually fulfilled in the hearts of the congregation. So, even though these people claim to be God’s true servants, we can see that in reality, they are not. Those who are called God’s servants in today’s Christian communities should be able to at least wash away their followers’ sins from their hearts once and for all with the gospel they are preaching. If they are not able do this, then they are exposed as liars before God. In contrast, the true servants of God preach the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, and those who hear and believe in this Word can receive the remission of sins to be washed from all their sins. This gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is being preached to people throughout the whole world, and the power of this gospel is more than enough to save everyone who believes in it. Therefore, if anyone is not preaching the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit in God’s sight, then this person is not His servant.
Today, in the 21st century, we also see many liars in Christian communities. Yet, we often see that Christians treat such liars very generously even though they are deceiving them. In the 21st century, we have seen many people calling themselves God’s servants and committing all kinds of spiritual frauds to inflict a great deal of damage on Christian believers. It is very important for us to realize that we are living in an age when false prophets are running rampant. We see them not just in the days of the Old Testament, but also in the days of the New Testament. What is clear is that the gospel these false prophets are preaching as God’s gospel is incapable of washing away any of the sins that are now in their congregation’s hearts.
However, this age also has God’s true servants who are preaching the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to everyone who believes in Jesus. 1 John 5:1 says that the baptism and blood of Jesus are what saves this world from its sins. Below is an actual testimony we received from someone abroad who came across the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, believed in it, and received the remission of sins as a result.
“We see ourselves sinning unknowingly and unintentionally with our thoughts, words, and acts. By rights, we should be condemned for our sins and thrown into hell. Out of His love, however, God the Father sent us Jesus our Lord Savior. Jesus is the One who personally bore all our sins through the baptism He received from John the Baptist in the Jordan River. He also bore the punishment of our sins with the blood He shed on the Cross, thus washing away our hearts’ sins once and for all for those of us who believe. Jesus has resurrected us the believers in His resurrection. The Lord bore our sins and their punishment in our place, and He overcame the judgment of death and hell. Ascending to Heaven, Jesus has blotted out our names from the Book of works and written them in the Book of Life. He has fulfilled and completed our everlasting remission of sins with the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. And He has poured into our hearts the Holy Spirit He promised to send to all who believe in the righteous work of Jesus Christ. Having thus saved us the believers in His righteous work, Jesus Christ has delivered us from the false doctrines of Satan. Such is our faith, and I give all my thanks to the Triune God for making us forever sinless.”
Like this, we have people from around the world sending us their testimonies after coming to believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. At the same time, however, there also are some people who say nonsense. Here is an example: “You cannot be saved completely from your sins. Even though you believe in Jesus, it is impossible for your sins to be completely blotted out of your heart.” Imagine what would happen if one were to believe in Jesus from listening to such liars’ teaching. In reality, such false prophets’ words have turned out to be completely opposite to the Word of God. These people will say that they can go to Heaven even though their hearts clearly remain sinful. Like this, we see in today’s Christian communities that people who cannot believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit are preaching a half-gospel.

Where Are Your Leaders Guiding You Now?

Even today, some Christian leaders will no doubt say to their congregation, “All your sins have been washed away thanks to the blood Jesus shed on the Cross. On account of this blood, you have received the perfect remission of sins. But you should not call yourself righteous. You are still a sinner but you will be saved from all your sins eventually. So, if you are faithful to God, serve Him, and live humbly, then over a long time your heart will be sanctified gradually, and your sins will be blotted out little by little until you become completely sinless right before your death.” According to this teaching, salvation from your sins is reached by believing in incremental sanctification. Is this really the case? No, of course not! How can mankind’s salvation be reached by adding one’s own deeds to it rather than being fulfilled entirely by the work of Jesus? Isn’t this strange? After all, how can anyone’s sins just disappear gradually with passing time to transform the person into someone holy? Yet, such a teaching has already been established firmly in Christianity as a mainstream doctrine, known as the doctrine of incremental sanctification.
However, the Bible says clearly that even though mankind’s sins are like scarlet, they are forgiven once and for all as white as snow. It’s written in Hebrews 10:9-10: “Then He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.’ He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” As we can see in this passage, the moment we believe in Jesus as the Savior, our sins are blotted out once and for all, so how can any believer’s sins disappear gradually over time? Clearly, this means that either there is a problem with the work of salvation Jesus did when He came to this earth, or the belief in the doctrine of incremental sanctification is wrong.
Which of the two do you think is wrong? Of course, it is the doctrine of incremental sanctification that is wrong, not Jesus. It then follows that, for those who are preaching that salvation is perfected by adding the doctrine of incremental sanctification to God’s gospel of the blood, their faith is clearly false. Let’s say that these Christians have served God with loyalty, dedication, and humility in the name of Jesus Christ in their lives of faith. What would be left in their hearts? All that is left in the hearts of today’s Christians is the hurt from their transgressions and the pain of sins from living under the yoke of the Law, and these rule over their hearts. Even though Christians these days believe that their sins are blotted out if they just believe in Jesus’ blood on the Cross, in reality, their sins still remain intact in their hearts, and they live with their hearts filled with shame because of their transgressions.
Would such church leaders then be true leaders or false leaders? I’ll leave the determination up to you! Setting everything else aside, these leaders should have at least washed away the sins that were in their congregations’ hearts white as snow with the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, but they have not ministered so. To this day, many Christians are still living in pain, as there is nothing left in their hearts but the suffering of sin and the doctrine of incremental sanctification. This is why we hear about so many people who once believed in Jesus as their Savior getting disillusioned by Christianity and converting to a different religion. Falling for the creeds of another religion, they end up worshiping idols instead of God. In short, they have come to serve a worldly religion, which is far removed from the blessed Word that Jesus has spoken to all of us, and that enables all to receive the remission of sins. Such a phenomenon is widely evident in the hearts of today’s Christians. It is because of such false witnesses that so many Christians today are leaving the church for the world only to end up standing against God and live as His enemies.

Why Is Today’s Christianity Not Flourishing?

Christianity today is declining because it is unable to wash away any of the sins that are in people’s hearts. For today’s Christianity to be revived with the true faith, there is no other way but to wash away the sins that are in the hearts of the congregation with the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. We must preach the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to them now, so that they may be freed from the sins that are in their hearts. We must take care of them so that they would not leave the church. The way to ensure that they do not give up their lives of faith is making sure that they are washed from their sins.
This is the job of every church, but many church leaders are not preaching the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to their congregation, and as a result they are misleading their followers to give up on their lives of faith. If the congregation had been washed from all their hearts’ sins once and for all by believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, they would have been faithful to the church and not have left it no matter how much hardship they faced. So, in my view, the church leaders are entirely responsible for this sad state of Christianity. Today’s church leaders must first learn and understand the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the gospel with which the Lord has washed away the sins of mankind. Only after this can they lead their congregation properly to the way of the Lord.
In the past, I, too, had no knowledge of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. But, because the Lord met me through the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, I was able to become who I am today, a witness preaching the righteousness of God. All this is by the grace of salvation and God’s blessing that the Lord has given me. Seeing me as a faithful servant, the Lord has raised me to preach His gospel to you. I am no more than an instrument, someone raised to lead you now into the Truth of salvation. It is you who are precious in God’s sight. The Lord wants to bless you. You must now believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and you must lead your congregation so that they would also believe in this true gospel Word.
The congregation will then listen to God’s Word of redemption, and they will receive the remission of sins into their hearts. Once they know and believe in the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit according to the Word of God, their hearts will come to praise God. They will come to live a life that glorifies God and give thanks to Him with all their hearts. This will unfold in the congregation’s lives without fail. In this age and time, the only way to keep the congregation abiding in the church is for the preachers to preach God’s gospel of the water and the Spirit to them. It is absolutely imperative for today’s church leaders to do this, so that they can guide the congregation to be washed from their sins by understanding and believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit with their hearts.
Rather than just demanding more service and devotion from the congregation, church leaders today should wash away their sins with the baptism Jesus Christ received from John the Baptist and the blood He shed on the Cross. Isn’t this true? If so many Christians these days are so indebted in sins, shouldn’t their leaders guide them so that they can get this debt written off by believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit? Today’s church leaders should indeed preach the Word of salvation to solve the problem of sin for their congregation. Yet, far from it, are they not demanding even more sacrifices from their followers, all in the name of God? Quite apart from the congregation’s repentance, it is the church leaders who must first admit their sin of not leading their congregation into the gospel of the water and the Spirt, and ask for forgiveness from both God and their followers. Isn’t this the case? For pastors and laypeople alike, the Word that washes away their sins is the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, but today’s pastors are not preaching this Word. Let me be clear here: there is no other way to blot out the sins of mankind but to believe in this Word of salvation.
I am beseeching you and even crying out to you now to learn about the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit and abide in assured salvation. I am not trying to have you join our church. My point is that today’s Christians are leaving the church because their sins remain in their hearts. And they are being dragged around by God’s enemy also because their hearts remain sinful. The only way to deliver them from the hands of the opponents of God now is delivering them from the sins of the world with the God-given gospel of the water and the Spirit. If you do not preach this Truth even after realizing it, then you, too, will live your life as God’s enemy. Do you want to live as God’s enemy, or do you want to believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit and follow the Word of the Lord faithfully?
You are now standing at a crossroads between these two choices. Which road will you choose? The Lord is still giving you the right to choose. This is the evidence demonstrating that the Lord still loves you. You must turn around from living as God’s enemy while you still have a chance, and return to the gospel of the water and the Spirit the Lord has given you. To do so, believe first in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the true Word. The Lord will then save you from all your sins on account of this faith of yours. You are now standing at a crossroads and must decide whether you will live as God’s servant or His enemy. I am imploring you with all my heart. Right now there is no place in your heart for the holy Lord to dwell. That is because your heart is full of sins. So I ask you to let go of your own ego, and to accept Jesus Christ, who has come by the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, into the center of your heart.
Who, then, should repent before God? The leaders who have been guiding you all this time are the ones who ought to repent first in God’s sight, long before the congregation. And it is the leaders who must first believe in the God-given gospel of the water and the Spirit and receive the remission of sins. They must then stand before their congregation and give sermons that speak about faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.
Are you now thinking that the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit Jesus spoke to all human beings is just abstract? No, that is not the case. The gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is the Truth that actually brings salvation into the hearts of all who believe in this gospel. With our faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, we can wash away all the sins we commit in our everyday lives. The Truth that enables everyone to wash away all sins is found in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. This gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is the assured Word of salvation that is the evidence of the remission of sins. This Word is the true Word the Lord has given to all of us, and whoever believes in this Truth will find true freedom for the heart. I hope and pray that you would also believe in this Word and glorify God.

The Matching Word of Salvation

God is telling us that the Old and New Testaments match one another. The Word of God written in the Bible is the testimony speaking to us about our salvation, who had all been sinners. The focal point of every Word in both Testaments is the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, which is the Truth of the remission of sins the Lord has spoken to us.
God has given us the assured testimony of our salvation with His Word, speaking to us about how sinners’ transgressions are taken away from them. During the age of the Old Testament, this was done through the “laying on of hands,” in which everyone’s sins were passed on to the sacrificial offering by laying his hands on its head. The “laying on of hands,” which sinners performed on the sacrificial offering during the age of the Old Testament, was the method that was needed for the people of Israel to pass their sins on to the head of the sacrificial animal. Leviticus 1:4 speaks of the laying on of hands as the following: “Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.”
The Bible says that the Old Testament’s laying on of hands is fulfilled in the New Testament as the baptism Jesus received from John the Baptist. It is written in Matthew 3:15-16: “But Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.”
This passage tells us about the baptism through which sinners’ transgressions were passed on to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, just like the Old Testament’s laying on of hands. In other words, God is telling us here that Jesus was to accept all the sins of this world on His own head once and for all through the baptism John the Baptist gave Him in the Jordan River. God said that the baptism Jesus received from John the Baptist was the means through which He accepted all the sins of every sinner. This means Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist was God’s love that fulfilled all His righteousness. In other words, God is telling us here that Jesus went to the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist so that He would accept the sins of this world on His own body once and for all. That Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist means that He accepted all your sins and mine.
Therefore, in the present age of the New Testament also, all those who are preaching God’s Word of the remission of sins to sinners must preach the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit spoken of in both the Old and New Testaments. Grounding their sermons in the unwavering Word, church leaders must preach to their congregation about the passing of sins in both Testaments and admonish them to believe. Christian leaders in this present age must themselves first believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit God is speaking of in both Testaments, receive the remission of sins actually, and then preach it to their congregation.
The reality, however, is far removed from this, which is deeply frustrating to God and me. I have looked for people in today’s Christian communities who are preaching the gospel of the remission of sins that the Old and New Testaments speak of, but I could not find any. That is why the Lord is looking for the true workers who are preaching His gospel in this age and time—that is, the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit—and you must realize that these workers are none other than you. It is absolutely indispensable for you to realize that God is looking for the true servants who are shouting out His gospel of the remission of sins in this age, and that these workers are no one else but you. If you want to become God’s worker fit for His use and wish to carry out His work, then I ask you to learn about the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that both Testaments speak of, abide in the unwavering Truth, and believe in it. It is my sincerest hope and prayer that you would all become the kind of servants that God is looking for.
I want you all to become, even now, God’s servants who know and preach His righteousness. If you really want to believe in and follow the righteousness of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind, then I ask you to follow the predecessors of the true faith. You need to meet those who found the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit one step ahead of you, and I admonish you to follow the Word of God in unity with them. If you want to obey the will of God like this, you must first believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that constitutes the righteousness of God. Once you do this, I ask you to lead to God all your fellow church members who still remain sinners, so they may also receive the remission of sins. In this age and time, the Lord is looking for those who believe in His love and righteousness, and who would serve Him by faith. I believe these people are none other than you. The true, God-raised servants are those who believe in the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit that can bring the remission of all sins not only to themselves but also their congregation. It is such people who can preach the Word of salvation to the congregation by placing their faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
People attend church because they want to believe in Jesus Christ our Savior and His righteousness of salvation. It is only after you yourself believe in the “gospel Word of the water and the Spirit” that you can admonish them to believe in this gospel. Believing in the Word of the remission of sins, you must preach this Word to the congregation. Only then can you lead all the members of your church to reach salvation from all their sins. Their hearts, which still remain sinful despite believing in Jesus, will then be transformed into righteous hearts, enabling them to be faithful to the Lord for the rest of their lives. Your congregation will then carry on with their lives in this world with thanksgiving to the Lord.
If your heart has now come to believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the true Word of the remission of sins, then from now on you are a witness preaching the powerful gospel of the water and the Spirit. You must preach this gospel of the water and the Spirit to nominal Christians also. To do so, you must first stand before God by your faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. When you stand by faith before Christ our King, the Lord will lift you up to be someone who can preach the true Word of salvation. For this to come about, you yourself must first put on the grace of being born again by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
I ask the laypeople here to also think about this question: Are your church leaders guiding you with the Word of both Testaments into the Truth that enables you to receive the remission of sins? Or are they just shaping you every day into an ethical person? It is hugely important for you to meet the right spiritual leader. Only then can your soul be freed from all your sins. The Bible says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2). The Apostle John said here that he wants you to follow the Word of God by faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the true Word of salvation that holds the righteousness of God, so that you may be blessed for both your soul and body to prosper.
In the age of the Old Testament, true prophets such as the Prophet Ezekiel and Isaiah had prophesied to the king and the people of Israel that the king of Babylon would invade them, and that they would be spared if they surrendered to him and asked for peace before the invasion. We must remember this Word of prophecy. I pray that you would also ask God for peace now through the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit Jesus Christ has given you, and to have the faith to receive the remission of sins and eternal life the Lord is offering you. By believing in the God-given gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, you, too, can now be saved from all your sins and receive God’s blessing. During the days of the Old Testament, the Prophet Isaiah and the Prophet Ezekiel alike had relayed the will of God consistently, but the people of Israel did not accept this will into their hearts, and as a result they were taken into captivity as war prisoners. Put differently, the prisoners of sin in those days were the same as those of you who, despite believing in Jesus, still remain as sinners being dragged around by the Devil.
Christians today must also reconcile with the Lord by believing in the God-given gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, so that they may no longer be sinners before the Lord and instead become sinless and righteous in God’s sight on account of their faith. The way is open for you to receive the God-given remission of sins and become righteous by believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, so why would you reject this Word? This pathway to salvation is one that you have never embarked on, so it may seem unfamiliar to you. However, if you humble your heart and believe wholeheartedly in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the blessed Word of the remission of sins the Lord has fulfilled to blot out our sins, then you, too, can live your life as His witness. You, too, can become a victor of faith by believing in the Lord. God wants to bless you all now.

Why Are You Suffering?

You must obey our God’s commandment to turn around from all our transgressions and believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit the Lord has given us. If we are suffering now, it is because we do not believe in the true Word of salvation that holds the will of God spoken to us through the gospel of the water and the Spirit. God is waiting for us, longing for all of us to accept the true gospel Word of the water and the Spirit into our hearts. He is telling us that we must all turn around from our sin of standing against Him and return to His gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. God is saying to us that we can bring joy to His heart only if we return to Him through the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. I hope and pray that all of you who are now listening to this Word would accept the remission of sins into your hearts by faith and enjoy this blessing from God.
If the people of Israel had listened to and obeyed the true prophets who brought the will of God to them, they would not have had to suffer under captivity in Babylon. Likewise, if Christians today had listened to the God-given gospel Word of the water and the Spirit and believed in it with their hearts, they would have forever become God’s sinless people. They would have not only been delivered from their sins, but they would also be living a life of faith that is always joyous before God. Yet, far from this, many Christians in this age are unable to come out to God’s presence because they are listening to the false prophets instead. By embarking on the path of disobedience, they are living in suffering before God because of their sins. This is all the more heart-breaking to me.
A true prophet in God’s sight would say this: “I want you to live by believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that the Son of God, the Lamb, has fulfilled for you.” In the age of the New Testament also, God’s true prophets would say: “From now on, do not stand against the Word of salvation, the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, which is the will of God. Instead receive the blessings God is offering you by believing in this Word. Obey the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the will of God, now, or otherwise you will remain a sinner forever and be cast into the pit of fire reserved for God’s enemies.” God is saying to all the sinners of this age, “The evil spirits around you will seize you and take you to hell, where only the sinful are found. So, receive the remission of sins without delay, thanking Me and believing in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit I have given you.”
The true prophets of the age of the Old Testament had prophesied to the people of Israel, “Pagan nations will attack and topple your kingdom, and your king and all your people will be taken in captivity as prisoners of war.” Just as the people of Israel heard this Word of God, they were indeed taken to a foreign country as prisoners, and some of them died there in enslavement. In the end, as time went by, the people of Israel came to see with their own eyes everything being fulfilled just as God had said. Today, such Word of prophecy is God’s Law and testimony—that is, the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit—and the Lord is the guarantor of salvation for those of us who believe in this Word of the remission of sins.
Before you believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, I want you to examine once more whether or not the legalistic doctrines you believe in now have really enabled you to be born again. Confirm for yourself again whether or not the legalistic teachings you have heard all this time have really had any effect on your remission of sins, and then return to the gospel of the water and the Spirit. For example, if a certain church leader has preached the Word of God to you, and if your heart has actually been washed from all your sins after hearing this Word of God, then the leader is clearly someone who has preached the true Word of salvation to you. But, if this is not the case, then this person is no more than a teacher of ethics just instructing you about the Law of God. In contrast, the God-given gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is the Truth that lets you see for yourself the miracle of having all your sins washed away just from hearing it once.
Like this, before you decide to continue to follow your church leaders who have been preaching to you all this time, you should reexamine carefully to see whether or not they have really preached the Word of God that has the power to transform your heart. Now is the time for you to renew your spiritual strength by placing your faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. It is absolutely imperative for you to realize this. As the saying goes, there is no time like the present. Now is the time when you can succeed even in this pitch-dark world by placing your faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. It is never too late; even at this very moment, you can start again by holding on to and believing in the Word of the water and the Spirit, and by this faith receive the blessings of the remission of sins and eternal life, which are the fruits of the Spirit. I have every faith that you will receive the blessed remission of sins by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the Word of God.
The Word of the water and the Spirit can transform your heart. You must now hear this “Word of testimony,” believe in it, and by this faith enjoy the blessings God is offering you. If you believed with your heart in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that I have been preaching to you till now, your heart would have been delivered from all your sins. I know that when your faith was legalistic, you yourself knew instinctively that you were bound to hell because your sins, far from disappearing, only kept on piling up as more time went by.
Therefore, today, you need to apply to yourself the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the Word of God, think about it again carefully, and believe in it. If you had someone who really sought to lead you to Jesus Christ, then this person would have led you to the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that can address the problem of your sins. Jesus would have then made it known to you that He had washed away your sins once and for all and already solved them away with the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. So I ask you to once again think about Jesus Christ—how He bore the sins of the world by being baptized by John the Baptist, and how He shed His blood on the Cross to death—and be saved from all your sins by believing in Him.

What Does Your Soul Need the Most?

Although you have many needs for your flesh, as someone who is now attending church, what you need more for your soul is the God-given Word of Truth that enables you to be born again of water and the Spirit. Your heart must have faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the gospel of the remission of sins, that the Lord fulfilled once and for all when He came to this world. Only then can you receive the Lord by faith whenever He returns.
Regardless of how long you have believed in Jesus, if you receive the returning Lord with your heart still remaining in a sinful state, you will ultimately end up in fiery hell, the place of punishment reserved for God’s enemies. To avoid this, you must be born again as a righteous person. You must learn and grasp the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit the Lord has given you, and thus reach assured salvation. This Truth is what you need the most now, and faith in this Word is what is absolutely indispensable to you.
Imagine for a moment that you passed away from this world suddenly one day. What would your soul need the most at that time? God’s Word of salvation that you need the most when you leave this world behind, not to mention when you are still alive, is the true “gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.” When we were sinners, Jesus Christ came to this world, was baptized by John the Baptist to bear our sins, shed His blood on the Cross as the Lamb of God while shouldering the sins of this world, and said on the Cross, “It is finished.” This Word is what has saved you from all your sins. Faith in this Word is what brings the grace of salvation to us now—that is, it is the gift of salvation. The gospel Word of the water and the Spirit we see in the Bible is the powerful gospel that God has given to all sinners for the remission of their sins. Jesus Christ wants to give you this “gospel Word of the water and the Spirit,” the Truth of salvation that your soul needs the most now. We must therefore all believe in this Truth, the Word of the remission of sins the Lord has given us.

What Is the Faith You Need Now?

Now, you must learn about the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that our Lord has fulfilled for us, understand it, and believe in it with all your heart. Do you realize that the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit is the Truth of the remission of sins? To understand this gospel, you must admit to the Lord all the sins you are hiding in your heart, accept into your heart the gospel Word of salvation that the Lord has washed away your sins with His baptism and blood, and believe in this Word. Only then can you receive the remission of sins. If, in spite of this, you pay no attention to the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, your soul will wail and perish from spiritual thirst like a deer thirsting for water. So, if your soul is thirsting after the washing of sins, then I ask you to visit our website and read one of our many books that preach the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. You will be blessed to encounter the true Word of salvation there, and find out, through both Testaments, how you, who have been a sinner all this time, can be truly saved from all your sins and receive eternal life.
Today’s Christians professing to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior must listen to the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit and believe in it with their hearts. To all those who believe in the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit today, Jesus Christ has given the true remission of sins and new life. So I urge you to accept the Truth of salvation now, that salvation by faith is reached through the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit given to us by Jesus Christ the Son of God. People all over the world, who are Adam’s descendants, want to meet Jesus and believe in Him for one purpose: they want to be washed from all their sins once and for all by faith. You and I must stand on the side of the Word of God. Only then can we really receive God-given blessings. What I want to say to you now is this: stand with the written Word of God and believe in it.

How Is the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit Manifested in the Old and New Testaments?

When we look at both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, we see that the purpose for which Jesus came to this earth was to blot out everyone’s sins once and for all with the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Jesus came to this earth for this purpose, to accept all the sins of mankind on His own body by being baptized by John the Baptist, bear the condemnation of sins in their place, and thereby give them the remission of sins. Through the baptism He received from John the Baptist, Jesus Christ washed away your sins and mine once and for all, and He was condemned for them. Having shouldered all the sins of this world at once through His baptism, Jesus shed His precious blood on the Cross, and He has thereby saved whoever believes in Him. It is by bearing all the sins of this world and the condemnation of these sins that the Lord has saved all who believe in this Truth. And, rising from the dead, Jesus has blessed those who have become God’s children by believing in the righteousness of the Lord to partake in His resurrection. To all who believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the Lord has given not only the true remission of sins but also the glory of receiving eternal life.
At the age of 30, Jesus went to John the Baptist’s place of ministry, who was shouting out for repentance in the wilderness. At that time, John the Baptist was baptizing people in the Jordan River, and he was shouting out to them to repent and return to God. The reason why Jesus sought out John the Baptist and was baptized by him was because He Himself wanted to bear all the sins of mankind on His own body in obedience to the will of God the Father. When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in New Testament times, He was 30 years old, and this is because in the Old Testament, a priest had to wait until he turned 30 years old before ministering as the High Priest. At the age of 30, Jesus sought out John the Baptist, who was of the same age, and bore the sins of this world once and for all by receiving baptism from him. This is because Jesus is the High Priest of Heaven, while John the Baptist was to carry out his role as the High Priest of this earth to fulfill the righteousness of God.
Today, by believing in this Truth of the remission of sins, you can pass all your sins on to the body of Jesus, placing your faith in His baptism. Because Jesus has washed away all the sins of mankind in this world once and for all with the baptism He received, whoever believes in this Truth can at once wash away all his sins by faith. As Jesus Christ accepted the sins of this world once and for all through His baptism, and as He bore the condemnation of all the sins of mankind by shedding His blood on the Cross while shouldering these sins, He can give new life to whoever believes in Him. The work of salvation done by Jesus Christ has washed away all our sins in this present age and taken away the condemnation of our sins once and for all. Therefore, those who now seek to preach the true Word of God to their congregation must know that they have the duty to explain in detail and preach to their congregation the gospel of the water and the Spirit manifested in both the Old and New Testaments.
The Lord said to Nicodemus, “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Now, you must pay close attention to what Jesus said here, that “one must be born again.” This was spoken to Nicodemus, but Jesus Christ was speaking of the Truth of salvation here—that He has saved mankind by coming to this earth, bearing the sins of the world, and being crucified to death. So, implying the baptism Jesus received and the blood He shed to save mankind from their sins, the Lord said that He has washed away our sins with the “gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.” Accordingly, we must believe in what Jesus said, that we can see the Kingdom of God only if we are born again of water and the Spirit.
The Lord has done incredibly important work to enable us to be born again. This Word is the Word of the water and the Spirit spoken by Jesus. When a non-believer attends church, the first thing the church leader must do is preaching the Word of God on how to be born again of water and the Spirit, so that this person can indeed be born again. The contents of the sermon should explain in detail, first of all, God; second, the sins of mankind; and third, the gospel of the water and the Spirit that holds the righteousness of Jesus—that is, the Word of the remission of sins.
With the written Word of God, church leaders today must explain to their congregation in greater detail the gospel of the water and the Spirit that enables mankind to be born again. Referencing the passages written in both Testaments, church leaders must preach the God-given Word of salvation so that it would reach the hearts and minds of their congregation, and they must plant in the congregation’s hearts the knowledge of true salvation and the faith that makes it possible for them to be truly born again and receive the remission of sins. It is then that all the congregation can realize the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit fulfilled by the Lord, grasp that they have received the remission of sins by faith, and spread this gospel to others also.

To Be Washed from All Your Sins Now, You Must Thirst after the Righteousness of God

There is one thing that we must make sure here: To be delivered from your sins, your heart must be standing with the Word of God. What you need to grasp here is that if your heart is not disposed to believe in the written Word of God, you can fail to receive the blessed remission of sins even when you are given the opportunity to encounter the gospel of the water and the Spirit. We can see this in what the Lord said in Matthew 5:3:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This means that even if we come across the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit, the God-given gospel of the remission of sins, to receive the blessed remission of sins by faith, our hearts must be poor in spirit. It also means that our hearts must stand with the Word of God, with a receptive disposition to believe that the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that we are now reading and hearing is the Truth.
Like this, we can receive the remission of sins only if our hearts are first standing with the Word of God and we have faith. Only then can you believe that the Word of God written in the Bible is the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that God is speaking to you now. For this to come about, you must humble, not exalt, your own heart before the Word of God. It is only then that you can come to believe that the Word of God you have been hearing at this hour is the Truth.
It is imperative for us to learn the Truth about the God-given gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. This is because if we desire to believe in Jesus Christ our Lord as our Savior, we must believe according to the Word of God exactly as it is written—that is, we must believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. The true faith that brings the remission of sins is all about following the true Word of God written in both the Old and New Testaments, and believing accordingly that the work of salvation fulfilled by Jesus Christ was done for our sake. Such faith depends on our wholehearted determination to rule out our own fleshly emotions and believe only according to the Word of God.

What Does It Take for Us to Become True Believers?

The true Christian faith is all about following the Word of God wherever it goes, and stopping wherever the Word of God stops. Whenever the Word of God takes a step forward, our hearts must follow it, and whenever the Word of God stops, our hearts must also stop. That is what true faith is all about. Such faith is found when we believe in the true Word of God. It is when we follow the written Word of God that the blessed, God-given faith of salvation springs forth and grows. If you want to receive the spiritual blessings of heavenly salvation, you must follow the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that is already written in the Scripture and believe in it with your heart. If we were to believe based on just our own fleshly emotions rather than the written Word of God, then this faith would be deviating from the Truth. To put it simply, any belief that follows our own thoughts of the flesh is the wrong faith.
For example, Jesus said in the New Testament, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). This Word of God is offering you an opportunity to be saved from your sins, so you ought to take it and learn from the Word of God how you can receive the assured remission of sins. You must search the Word of God until you can realize from it how your remission of sins has been fulfilled. And until your heart can believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, you must reject your carnal thoughts, and follow and believe in the Word of God instead. For us to receive the blessings of salvation the Lord is offering us through the God-spoken true Word, we must believe in the Word exactly as it is written in both Testaments of the Bible.
If we do this, then we will all come to realize that the final destination for this Word of God is ultimately the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. Until we reach the Truth that the Word of the Lord has freed us from our sins, we must deny our own thoughts and believe according to the written Word of God. This is because if you try to believe in Jesus’ work of redemption without denying your thoughts, your heart will ultimately be derailed from the Word of God, and you will therefore not be able to accept the Truth of salvation into your heart and end up rejecting it.
It is for this reason that Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24). If you follow your thoughts of the flesh now, you will just turn into a practitioner of worldly religion and, ultimately, you will forever remain a sinner. Such people think vaguely, “I suppose at some point I will also be born again of water and the Spirit,” and believe that they are good Christians. In reality, however, this kind of carnal thoughts cannot save you from your sins. The Word of Jesus Christ alone leads you into the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit. Your thoughts of the flesh are incapable of grasping the true righteousness of Jesus properly. If we believe in the Word of God that teaches us how to be born again—that is, the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit—and follow this Word by faith, then the remission of sins will come into our hearts at last. If you instead believe in Jesus according to your own fleshly thoughts and try to be born again in this way, it will be forever impossible for you to be born again of the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.
You must now learn every Word of salvation Jesus Christ has fulfilled for you, and you must believe in Him according to the written Word of God until you reach a more definitive understanding of salvation. Only then can you receive the Lord Jesus Christ, God Himself, joyously by placing your faith in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit when He returns to this earth. If you try to receive the returning Lord without this, you will be treated as someone whose faith is disqualified.
Therefore, from now on, you must believe in Jesus according to the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, stand firmly on this faith, and become one of the people of faith who are approved by God. It is not too late; even from now on, you must cast aside your own thoughts of the flesh to learn the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit, and follow the way of faith to believe according to the written Word of God just like Abraham. To do so, you need to meet your predecessors of faith who have already been born again of water and the Spirit, learn more from them, and devote yourself to the Truth so that you can reach the most assured salvation. Our Mission is providing free sermon books on the gospel of the water and the Spirit in various formats, including e-books and audiobooks, so that anyone can easily access them on the Internet. So, it takes hardly any effort to come across the true gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, and I sincerely hope that you will spare the little time it takes to look for our sermon books on our website.

Your Heart Must Always Stand on the Side of the Word of God

Our hearts for the Lord must always stand on the side of the Word of God. This is indispensable for us to accept into our heart the Word of salvation God is giving us. It is when the center of our hearts is standing with His Word that we can receive God-given blessings.
Spiritual battles arise when we are actually standing with the Word of God and carrying out His work. It is then that our flesh and souls clash against each other. If we come out to the Lord by faith, recognizing and believing that every Word of God is right, then we can all live a triumphant life of faith. Even though you and I are incapable of keeping every statute of the Law of God, when we believe that His written Word is all correct and true, and we acknowledge it by faith, the Lord will lead us to the way of righteousness. Salvation from our sins is reached by believing in the written Word of God, and it is also by faith that we can live happily. Moreover, no matter what circumstances we might face, as long as our hearts are standing with the Word of God in obedience, we can all carry out His work with a joyous heart and be filled with the Holy Spirit. If, however, our hearts are not standing with the Word of God, then our lives will be all ruined, for we will surely end up standing with God’s enemy instead of pleasing Him. It is therefore imperative for us to live by faith, being always mindful that God’s eyes are set on the center of our hearts.
Yet, there are some people who, despite claiming to have been saved from their sins by believing in God’s Word, are neither leading their lives of faith nor working on the side of the Word of God. These people are turning themselves into God’s enemies, and once they do this, their lives are bound to be impoverished to suffer in both body and spirit. In the end, they will turn into the man in Jesus’ parable who received one talent. What would be the outcome for someone who received one talent? The end result for such people is that they will ultimately come under the judgment reserved for God’s enemies, for they believe in neither Him nor His Word.

It is Time to wrap up this sermon

Our acts and hearts are not 100% perfect. However, if we believe in the Word of God and live for His glory, we can live out our faith. It is a mistake for us to expect that our deeds can be 100% perfect. There is not a single person living in this world whose acts are perfect. For those of us who are standing with the Word of God in the center of our hearts, when we see others making mistakes, we feel even more grateful to God for the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit that has saved such weak people like us from the sins of the world. So, we come to love and rely on the righteousness even more.
From now on, let us live the rest of our lives in this world by relying on the Word of God and His righteousness. Those who live by faith in the Word of God like this will be honored and loved by God as His cherished people. Even though you and I are full of shortcomings, God has blessed us to serve Him as His workers by giving us the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. We must therefore admit that we, too, are deficient, and live by faith in the written Word of God. Although I myself have many deficiencies, my heart is always rejoiced to follow God and His Word in my life. Those who bring joy to God are not those who lament over their shortcomings, but those who single-mindedly believe in and follow the written Word of God. We are such people, who look toward and follow the righteousness of the Lord that has washed away our shortcomings with the Word of God.
If our God were to give us material abundance now, the first thing we should do is spreading the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit throughout this world, and then secondly, improving our wellbeing. As those who believe in and serve the Word of God, we, too, should prosper and flourish. Some Christians today claim that we should refrain from food and offer fasting prayers frequently. The religious tend to think that Christians ought to go hungry deliberately and fast for the Lord several times a year, but I do not agree with such a view. If we all work faithfully to spread the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, I believe our God will be rejoiced. Only if we are healthy and prosperous on this earth can we also serve God’s gospel Word of the water and the Spirit well. Even if we were to fast and pray for 40 days, what use would this be to our God? What God wants from us is to sincerely believe in His Word, the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, receive the remission of sins, and live the rest of our lives faithfully to spread this gospel Word.
It is absolutely indispensable for us to carry on with our literature ministry by faith to spread the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to countless people throughout the whole world. We have fellow believers living across the global village, and I ask them to also promote our website in their respective countries using Internet advertisements. Internet ads are more effective when they are run in several venues and countries rather than just one venue. To all our brothers and sisters scattered all over the world, I ask you again to promote our website. Without our literature ministry, we would have to travel all over the world to meet people in person and preach the gospel to them directly, but it is next to impossible for all of us to preach the gospel in person like this.
The Lord has commanded us the believers in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit to be His witnesses to the whole wide world and the ends of the earth. So how could we not carry out this commandment of God that our Lord has given us? By the strength of our own flesh, we cannot achieve this. That is why we do whatever we can by faith and entrust the rest to our God. To our co-workers scattered all over the world who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, let us work together to preach this gospel. And let us devote ourselves to spiritual evangelization to spread the Word of God. All that we need to do is preach the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit by faith to people throughout the whole world. When we carry out this work, those who stand with the Word of God will be saved from their sins, while those who stand with God’s enemy opposing His Word will not believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit even when they hear it.
Those who are now standing with the Word of God will be blessed in both body and spirit, for they believe in God’s written gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. Unless people today hold on to the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, the Word of God, by believing that it is the Truth of salvation, the remission of sins will not come into their hearts. Some people say that their sins are not blotted out even when they believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, but such people have not seen true faith springing forth because their hearts are not standing with the Word of God. It is because people these days do not hold on to the Word of God by believing in it as the real Truth even when they are given an opportunity to be saved from their sins. They must lean their hearts on the Word of God and believe in what God is saying to them. This is our true repentance before the Word of God. We must preach the gospel of the water and the Spirit to such people also.
Regardless of my merits and flaws, I am holding on to the Word of God every day with my heart and doing my best to spread the gospel of the water and the Spirit that holds the righteousness of God. How blessed are our lives of faith, now that we are standing with the Word of God as we carry on with our lives in this world? I want the Word of God to spread even more. I believe that God will never render in vain the work we are doing to spread His gospel Word. God is always with us the righteous. We are now preaching God’s Word throughout the whole world, and today, God Immanuel is our God. He is the One helping us the righteous believers in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.
I believe that our God will fill all the needs of our family of faith with the best. I do not ask God for any useless things of the flesh. I do not wish to be just rich. Together with you, I want to spread the gospel of salvation that has come by the Word of God, the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and serve it more. I trust that this is your heart’s desire and mine, and I also believe that it is what pleases God. Our God has given such yearning and faith to us the believers in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit, so let us stand with God forever, spread His Word, and strive to live by faith in this Word of God. God created this world with His Word, and our Lord Jesus Christ has blotted out all our sins with this Word. I hope and pray that you would all live with unending thanksgiving to the Lord. Hallelujah! May God’s blessings descend upon your soul and body in abundance!
