Leviticus seen from the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit (II) examines Leviticus chapters 11 through 18 from that very perspective.
The author, Pastor Paul C. Jong, has long preached the gospel of the water and the Spirit, which Jesus Christ completed through the baptism He received from John, the blood of the Cross, and His resurrection. He does not treat the sacrifices and the ordinances of cleanness in the Old Testament as merely ancient institutions. Rather, he explains them as a shadow of salvation that reveals how God makes sinners sinless and leads them into the presence of the holy God.
The principle of atonement, in which sin is passed on to the sacrificial offering through the laying on of hands and the offering gives its life in the sinner’s place, is linked to the salvation in which Jesus bore the sin of the world through His baptism and was judged on the Cross.
We hope that through the word preached in this book, you will believe in the perfect salvation the Lord has accomplished and live a holy life by that faith.
