The Gospel which perfects Christians has never changed.
God gave the Israelites the sacrificial system in the Old Testament which was comprised of the laying on of hands to transfer their sins onto a sacrifice and then the shedding of its blood for atonement (Leviticus 1:1-9, 16:21)
These sacrifices for sin foreshadowed the salvation that Jesus would, in time fulfil by coming to this earth and receiving His baptized by the High Priest John the Baptist to shoulder the sins of the the world and die on the cross shedding His blood for our atonement (Matthew 3:15)
Any gospel that omits either the baptism or blood of Jesus is not of God, as it has no power to convert a hell bound sinner into a born again, sinless child of God.
Only Gods true gospel of the water and the Spirit that was promised in the old Testament and fulfilled in the New testament is the gospel which perfects Christians.
