Why did Jesus speak the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven in parables? Why is it that, hearing the same word, some understand it and some do not?
This book examines the parables of Matthew chapter 13 in connection with the word of chapters 9–12. It makes clear how the authority to remit sins and the compassion toward sinners, the disciples’ preaching of the gospel, the testimony of John the Baptist, and the rest the Lord gives are connected with the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The parables of the sower and the tares, the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price, and the dragnet show in what kind of heart the word bears fruit and how precious the gospel of the water and the Spirit is.
If the parables of the kingdom of heaven seem vague, or if you want to know the difference between true faith and the religious teachings of the world, open this book. You will meet Jesus, who gives eternal remission of sins and rest and reveals the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.
