“For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)

1 Corinthians is commonly read as a practical epistle dealing with church problems. However, the core that the Bible intends to speak through 1 Corinthians does not lie in the order of the church or the arrangement of spiritual gifts. Upon what gospel the church in the midst of division and confusion must stand again, that is the central message of 1 Corinthians.
This book explains 1 Corinthians from chapter 1 to chapter 16 from the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. It is a record that follows how Jesus Christ—who had the sins of the world transferred to Him by receiving baptism from John, received the punishment of those sins on the Cross, and then resurrected from death—and that gospel answer all the problems of the church.
By reading this book, we come to confirm the fact that only the gospel of the water and the Spirit makes the church become one and establishes the saints truly holy. Furthermore, how this gospel completely saves sinners from the sins of the world will be clearly testified through the two structures of baptism and the Cross.

The book "1 Corinthians Seen from the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit" explains All the chapters of 1 Corinthians in the light of the Gospel of the water and the Spirit.
The book explains the issues that arose inside the Corinthian church.
Those issues are also the same problems that can unravel today inside the church of God.

The saints in corith had fallen to Sectarianism and this had cause division in the church of God so the church had now lost the center of church which is the gospel of the water and the spirit and the spreading of this gospel and they were now criticizing one another`s faith.
Paul saw that this was not a simple difference of opinion but a division coming from a carnal heart.

Through the book rev paul c Jong has clearly revealed the heart of paul who was a spiritual father.
Paul knew what strategies satan used to shake the church.
Paul not only knew the cause for strife but also knew how to solve it.
Rev c. Jong teaches the method to solve strifes inside the church of God is for us to return to the centre which is Jesus Christ rather than human centered.
    For a spiritual father when conflicts arise in the church instead of taking sides or judging by himself who is right and who is wrong rev paul c Jong explains in the book that he needs to consider the following;
"First, he examines whether the human carnal heart is the root of the problem. Second, he looks back to see if the center of the gospel of the water and the Spirit has been blurred. Third, he checks whether the church is flowing in a human-centered way. Fourth, he examines whether the saints have lost humility and love."
Also one does not become a spiritual father just because he shared the word to souls but must be far ahead in faith.
"1 Corinthians 4:14-16 Paul’s Paternal Care I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me."
Also the book talks about by what means we should preach the Gospel of the water and the spirit and the author quoting apostle Paul explains that we should preach the Gospel of the water and the spirit not with human wisdom but with the wisdom of the grace of God.
The Gospel is not preached through human means and philosophy.
This clearly seen in the book of Acts chapter seventeen where paul reasoned with the people of Athens in philosophical way but when Paul reflected upon it later he said there was no fruit born from preaching to them in learned words.
Since the holy spirit works with the contents of the Gospel of the water and the spirit we preach we shouldn`t seek to add our human knowledge and wisdom when preaching the Gospel.
We should preach plainly that Jesus who is God was baptised by John the Baptist to take upon Himself all our sins and was Judged on the cross for oursakes and he resurrected on the third day.
When human philosophy enters the church the Gospel is distorted.
Also the book explains that the center of the church must always remain the Gospel of the water and the spirit.
Also the church is not a place where sin is treated lightly but it`s a place where sin is treated as sin.
Because the church of Corinth did not treat sin as sin even when it was committed the apostle Paul sharply rebuked them.
Paul exhorts that to avoid sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband, that husband and wife should fulfill their duties to each other, and that they should not deprive each other except by agreement for a short time to have time for prayer. The core here is that marriage is not a means to wash away sin. The removal of sins was already able to be received as salvation by faith believing in the Lord who had the sins of the world transferred to Him through the baptism Jesus received from John, received the punishment of sin on the cross, and resurrected from death. Marriage does not supplement salvation, but is merely a way of life to maintain the order of the already saved body.

Also rev paul c Jong explain that those who commit the sin of sexual immorallity that is those who unite themselves with the world instead of serving God are the most dangerous people.
They are the fornicators that the Bible talks about.
The author also warns us against uniting with unrighteousness.
This he says doesn`t refer to one time mistake or weakness of the flesh but it refers to leaving a life directed to unrighteousness instead of serving God.
We are warned that we should stay away from people who while claiming to belive in the Gospel of the water and the spirit with their lips dont really serve God.

Also the author talks about the benefits of following spiritual leaders and clarifies that obeying spiritual leaders is not uplifting a person but it`s following the order that God has estblished in the church.
Spiritual leaders are not there to rule over the saint`s but to establish their souls.

The author also reveals that now a belivers who pursue the benefits of the Gospel moves from a self-centered life.
A person’s heart easily moves centered on their own desires or profit, but a person who considers the gospel precious gradually comes to think of God’s will and the benefit of souls first. Therefore, they come to think about what kind of influence their words and actions will give to other people’s faith or souls. A believer has the freedom to make various choices, but it means that when using that freedom, they must think about what becomes glory to God and what becomes a spiritual benefit.
That`s why apostle Paul declared that he had become a slave to all.
Our souls and bodies are no longer ours but they belong to the lord we were bought at a price.
Now we are the lords possession and we should live as such. Making the lords will our own will.
The direction of our lives must be to give glory to the Lord.

Before we make choices the author tells us that we must think of other souls first.
we need to be able to lay down our benefits if need be for the sake of other souls.
We should also be careful not to make others stumble because of our knowledge.
We should always consider the benefits of the Gospel of the water and the spirit.
Knowing that some action we may do or some words we may talk can make some souls not to stumble.

This is does not mean to return to the law but its a voluntary decision to preserve the souls.
We should not use our rightness to merely prove our freedom of faith.
The book;"1 Corinthians Seen from the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit" also talks about the spiritual gifts that the belivers receive after believing in the Gospel of the water and the spirit.
The book clearly explains that the center of the church is not the gifts but the Already completed salvation.
The gifts that God gives to the saints is for the edification of the church.
Also the author explains that there is no gift that is better than the other but they are all equal gifts from God and that just as the body has different parts but one body we are also one body of christ.
The saints in corith were using the gifts they had received from God as instruments to raise themselves high and lower other but Paul pointed to them that this was a spiritual error.
Paul advised them to walk in unity each one supplying the church with the gifts they have so that they can propagate the Gospel in unity.

The book also talks about the resurrection mentioned in chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians.

Paul first begins the chapter by reminding the saints of the truth that they had been saved according to the plan of God showened in the old testament sacrificial sytem and fulfilled by the baptism of Jesus Christ which took away all of our sins His Judgment on the cross and His resurrection.
Paul teaches that the resurrection of the Lord was not a simple miraculous event but the core of the Gospel and event that showed the completion of salvation.
It show that the ministry of salvation was acknowledged by God.
The authors teaches us that we who believe in the Already completed salvation will also be resurrected in the near future.
In corinth there were people who denied the resurrection but in chapter 15 Apostle Paul clearly explained to them the truth about the resurrection.
The truth if there were no resurrection they could have had no need to believe this Gospel far less lay down our lives to preach.
I am truly thankfull to God that i will be resurrected and live with Him forever to sinners those who are not yet born again of the water and the spirit resurrection is infact a curse to them since they will be resurrected to be clothed with immortal bodies so that they can be sentenced to the Judgment of Hell for eternity.
Knowing that the resurrection is an event that will take place we need to move to the direction of preaching the Gospel of the water and the spirit to enable those who are not yet saved to receive the forgiveness and escape the condemnation of Hell.

The first resurrection was that of Jesus Christ the second will be of the saint`s and the third will be of the unbelievers.

Jesus Christ is the source of life and we are those who participate in that life.

May the grace of our lord Jesus Christ be with you.
