Tuma ujumbeGenesis 27:26-29. Then his father Isaac said to him, come near now and kiss me my son. And he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him and said: Surely, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed. Therefore may God give you Of the dew of heaven, Of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be master over your brethren, and let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be those who bless you! What a wonderful blessing Jacob has just received from his father Isaac. But take a look at how Jacob’s brother Esau reacted when he found out he had been tricked out of his inheritance. Genesis 27:34-36. When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, Bless me-me also, O my father! But he said, Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing. And Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing! Genesis 27:41. So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob. There is a similar story earlier in the book of Genesis where Cain kills his brother Able because of jealousy. God accepted the offer Able made to Him, but rejected that of his brother Cain. Able tended the flocks and Cain worked the land. Able offered a burnt offering whereas Cain made an offer from his hard work. It is clear for all to see, unless you come to God with the right offering, He will either bless you or curse you. Jacob was also a man of the flocks while his brother Esau was a man of the field. Same circumstances, same form of worship as Cain and Able. But look at the disastrous outcome. We know that Esau was the first born, but God had already chosen to bless Jacob. The gist of this message is to prove a point. How many Christians in the world today are and have been trying to receive God’s blessings, by thinking they could trick Him into believing they were someone who they were not. Isaac was almost blind and deaf so he had to rely on his sense of smell and touch. Jacob’s mother placed the skin of a goat on the arm of Jacob so that his father’s touch would make him believe that it was Esau. The same with the clothing his mother gave him to wear, it belonged to Esau and smelled of the field, thus deceiving Isaac once again. It was easy enough to trick a blind and a deaf man into releasing his blessing, but do you honestly believe that you can try to trick and deceive God into blessing you when you hide behind your disguise of the wrong faith? This is nothing more than trying to enter the sheep fold via the back door. If you try to enter the fold in this manner, the same will happen to you as did Able, you will be killed. God himself will destroy you. The same thing will happen to you as Esau threatened to do to his brother Jacob. Jealousy is an evil sickness which causes people to lie, cheat, hate, manipulate, deceive, steal and even murder one an another, and all for the sake of trying to receive something which is not rightfully theirs in the first place. God’s blessings are for free. There is only one way to receive God’s blessing, and that is by entering His fold by the front door.Jesus is the door to the fold and you have to enter through Him. There is no other way. Only the true faith is acceptable to God. The Gospel of the water and the Spirit is the only gospel which will allow you entrance into the kingdom of God. Any other form of worship or offering will only lead to your destruction. To learn more about the Gospel of the water and the Spirit, you can order the free Books written by Rev. Paul C. Jong on this very subject. Don’t mock it until you have tried it. These books make the difference between receiving God’s blessings or God’s curses. Just think about Cain and Able or Jacob and Esau. The choice between life and death is yours. John 8:32. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. God has already blessed you, drop your disguise and receive it. ARE YOU A WISE BELIEVER? Our Scripture reading in our new study series is taken from Galatians where it is written: “O FOOLISH Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the TRUTH, before whose eyes JESUS CHRIST was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the WORKS of the LAW, or by hearing of FAITH? Are you so FOOLISH? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the FLESH?” (Galatians 3:1-3). We THANK our Creator and Saviour Who satisfies us with “GOOD things” which comes from His Word, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle (Psalm 103:5). To be honest, when I am preparing the messages, I personally do not know what the next topic will be, but our God gives us as it seems good in His sight, and He enable us to learn more by expounding on a particular passage of Scripture. JESUS is the LORD of the Scripture. This is because He is the Word (John 1:1), and He is the One who takes us through them by His “Spirit” who TEACHES us all things and bringing into our REMEMBRANCE all that He told us (John 14:26) as revealed in the four Synoptic GOSPEL (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and through His anointed Apostles and Prophets from both the Old and the New Testament. Our study topic which is in a form of a question is a very IMPORTANT question. It says, “ARE YOU ARE WISE BELIEVER?” However, whether our answer is “YES” or “NO” must be based on the Holy Scriptures which has no defects or blemishes, and which makes no mistake. This is because our own criteria of judging who is “WISE” and who is a “FOOL” is completely different from how God “SEES” and judges just as He told Samuel the Prophet (1 Samuel 16:7). Throughout the Bible, one person whose acts or deeds compelled many people to label him as “FOOLISH” is none other than King Solomon. And their bases for labeling him as such is because they just cannot fathom why he had 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3). But through our subsequent studies, you will see that still Solomon is far BETTER and “WISE” than the majority of Christians of today. In other words, our Scripture reading in Galatians will prove to us that even Solomon was “WISE” than many of his ACCUSERS of today in Christendom. And as we proceed further in our studies, you will see that many Christians have also married MANY women spiritually which is even more “FOOLISH” and DANGEROUS than what King Solomon did. Now I want us to look at the REASONS why the Apostle Paul and for that matter the “Word” of God labelled the Galatians as “FOOLISH” believers even though they accepted JESUS as their Lord and personal Saviour. First of all, Paul began by saying, “O FOOLISH Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the TRUTH.” Here we must understand that the “TRUTH” refers to JESUS CHRIST according His own words in John 14:6. Therefore Paul was saying that any believer or Christian who does not “obey the TRUTH” which says that JESUS “came by water and blood” (1 John 5:6) to SAVE us by “GRACE” (Ephesians 2:8) is actually the most “FOOLISH” person ever. Secondly, the REASON why Paul labelled the Galatians as “FOOLISH” believers is because of his second (2nd) rhetorical question when he told them, “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the WORKS of the LAW, or by hearing of FAITH?” Here Paul was saying that any believer or Christians who attempts to received the Holy Spirit by trying to achieve “holiness” through the “WORKS” of the “LAW” of Moses is also a “FOOLISH” believer. Not only this, but we must also know that those who attempt to receive “the Spirit” through their own “WORKS” such as fasting and prayers are also “FOOLISH.” In other words, Christians who do not believe in the SALVATION of JESUS CHRIST by the “hearing of FAITH” are the ones who live in the highest level of STUPIDITY. This is exactly how the “Word” of God describes such believers. It is according to the “Word” of God and not according to Brother Eric. Thirdly, the REASON why Paul labelled the Galatians as “FOOLISH” believers is because of his third (3rd) rhetorical question when he asked them, “Are you so FOOLISH? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the FLESH?” Here we can see the WISDOM of Apostle Paul. He was a “WISE” believer and a “WISE” Apostle because he drew the clear line of demarcation between “the Spirit” and the “the FLESH.” The Apostle Paul never made that mistake to mix the things of the “Spirit” which is according to “FAITH” and the things of the “FLESH” which according to “WORKS” together. But rather he separated these two things, and he WORSHIPED God by “FAITH” in the things of the “Spirit.” That’s why he told us in Romans, “I thank God – through JESUS CHRIST our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the LAW of God, but with the FLESH the Law of SIN” (Romans 7:25). This the reason why Paul and all the Apostles of CHRIST were very “WISE.” But what about the Galatians? They were very “FOOLISH!” Why? Because they did not “serve” the “LAW” of God with their “mind,” but they attempted to serve the holy “LAW” of the Most High with their “FLESH” which is impossible for any man to achieve. What about the Christians of today? In fact most of them are also “FOOLISH” just like the Galatians who appear in our main passage of Scripture reading. Majority of Christens are just like Nicodemus. When JESUS told him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is BORN AGAIN, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God” (John 3:5), Nicodemus replied, “How can a man be BORN when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be BORN?” (John 3:4). Here in the above passage, we can see that even though Nicodemus was a great Rabbi among the Jews, his “FOOLISHNESS” was revealed in his reply to JESUS. He was really a “FOOLISH” Rabbi. But thanks to JESUS who helped Nicodemus to understand the whole concept when he told him, “Unless one is BORN AGAIN of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is BORN of the FLESH is FLESH, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit” (John 3:4-6). So here, we can see that JESUS also drew the clear line of demarcation to Nicodemus, and He told him that he (Nicodemus) must not mix being born of the “FLESH” with being “BORN AGAIN” of His water and the Spirit which are parallel to each other because they can never meet or intersect. This was the main PROBLEM with Galatians and many Christians of today whose “BORN AGAIN” is according to their performance in obeying the “LAW” with their “FLESH” which is more stinky than excreta (faeces, sweat, and urine). If human excreta such as faeces, sweat, and urine is in the “FLESH,” can it obey the Holy and just “LAW” of the Lord God Almighty? After the FALL of man, our bodies were degenerated into this state of hopelessness, and nothing can CHANGE it unless our “soul” is “BORN AGAIN” through the BAPTISM, the BLOOD and RESURRECTION of CHRIST. We must all be Christians who are “WISE” and not “FOOLISH.” This is because whether we are spiritually “WISE” or “FOOLISH” will determine whether we will enter the “Kingdom of God” or not. The reason for this is because those who are spiritually “FOOLISH” will be DECEIVED by Satan just as he did to the Galatians, and he will take such people along with him to hell. Our study continues...........
Confession in Greek (homologes) means to agree with something. We must realized that as human beings we did not confer the "word sinner" on ourselves. This is because the ability to say whether or not one is a sinner is a sole prerogative of God. As human beings we cannot determine who is a sinner, because we are also guilt of the very thing we accused people of. We may try to advise people of some behaviours, but we cannot determine whether or not that act is a sin, we don't have the capacity to do that. When the word of God comes to us and say we are sinners, the wise thing to do is to agree with the word and find a saviour. We must as Saints agree that our sins have been taking away so we are no longer sinners and therefore there is no condemnation hanging on our neck. 1John 1:29, Romans 6:1-10, Romans 8:1-2. Our sins were forgiven more than 2000 years, so what do we confess again?. All our sins were future sins. We were forgiven of our sins before we were born. 1 Corinthians 13:4-10 We were forgiven of our sins through Jesus baptism and his death. Our sins were washed and paid for by His baptism and his death. Matthew 3:13-15, John 3:1-6, 1John 5:6-8, Romans 6:2-8. In matters of our salvation, our works did not play any role. Ephessians 2:8, Romans 4:1-10. We were forgiven completely for all the time. Jesus will never baptise and go to the cross again. Hebrews 10:10, 14-20. 1John 3:4-6, 9 We were forgiven in accordance with the riches of God's grace. Forgiveness of sin is the business of God and a gift to give. Galations 2:20-21Titus 3:4-5. Our sins were long gone. Hebrews 9:22. Jesus' sacrifice was the atomic bomb that did away with sin . Just like a "bee" the sting has been taken away. God chooses to forget our sin. Isaiah 43:22-25, Psalm 103:1-12. God is love. Love keeps no record of wrong. Your heavenly Father is not a fault-finder. 1Corinthians 13:4-10 The Holy Spirit does not convict a born again of any sin. The law convicts the world of sin but the Holy Spirit convicts the believer of his righteousness. How could God convicts you of a sin He chooses not to remember. Isaiah 43:25. When a born again confesses his sin, what it means is that he is putting himself under the law. If you are under the law, you are under curse. Mixing Gods grace with man's work is like mixing milk with poison. The result will not be good at all. 1 Samuel 6:1-21. God as a judge has cancelled our sins from the law. Confession -to-be forgiven keeps us from God. When dealing with people, confession sins and seeking forgiveness may help heal a guilty conscience. But God doesn 't relate to us with human love. Confessing -to- be- forgiven empowers sin. Instead of dealing with sin and releasing life, law based confession stires up sin and leads to death. Confessing -to-be forgiven makes us sin-conscious, and not Christ -conscious. Every minute you spend dwelling on your sin is a minute wasted. You are not worthy? Get over yourself! Christ is worthy! The grace of God is greater than your sin. Romans 5:12-21, Romans 7:6-10, Hebrews 8:13, John 6:40 In conclusion, when a believer confesses his or her sin, he is telling God Jesus could not take his or her sin away as recorded in John 1:29 so God must come himself to do it better. Study the word with spiritual mind and avoid the fleshly thoughts. GOD BLESS YOU.
THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRISTJESUS, WHO DO NOT WALK ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, BUT ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT. (Romans 8:1 Many bible versions have taken away the second part of this verse, "who do not walk according to the flesh , but according to the spirit" Those who walk according to the flesh always believe that, though they are Christians but they are sinners so they need to ask for forgiveness of sin everyday. They don't believe in Jesus' ability to forgive sin and impute on us the righteousness of God Matthew 3:15, Romans 6:18. For this reason, they always try to establish their own righteousness so they cannot put themselves under the righteousness of God. Romans 10:1-3. They don't believe in the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world John 1:29 Those who walk according to the spirit are those who believe that it is Jesus who has done all their works for them so they have no righteousness of their own. They believe that the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made them free from the law of sin and death. They have become slave to the righteousness of God. Romans 6:18. There are a lot of bible verses that we need to take the spiritual mind to read. For example 1John 1:8-9, Proverbs 28:13 and Romans 6:1. Those who walk according to the flesh think those passages are meant for Christians. When you take the proverbs 28:13 it reads "He who conceals (covers) his sin shall not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them find mercy" Look this passage is completely not for the believer. Believers sins have been covered by God Himself and not by us. Romans 4:7-8 support this fact. So it is the unbeliever who conceals his sin who the bible is talking about. Again, in 1 John 1:8-9 says "if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Again, this passage is completely not for the believer. Look every believer can claim to be without sin because Jesus has covered his sin and has made him righteous. He has no conscious of sin but conscious of his righteousness in Jesus. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has delivered him from the law of sin and death. We must also not loose the fact that there is only one sin in the world so we need only one sacrificial lamb to attone for it. Jesus baptized, died and resurrected for our sins once. He has cleansed and perfected us forever. Walk according to the spirit and you will begin to appreciate the real love of God. Jesus the Holy spirit keeps no record of the believers sin. Stop judging and condemning yourself. You have no condemnation in His presence okay. AMEN.
Personally for me, I grew up in a so-called "Christian" faith, and for me it wasn't much of a breakthrough. I kept on asking "why this?" and "why that?" because I never understood what I believed in and never had the faith to believe in Christ but posed as though I did because that's what my family believed in. So I grew up being skeptical and accepted whatever was thrown on front of me by friends or acquaintances without any thought. And honestly, I felt terrible. I believed there was a God, and I tried my best to pray, but to no avail. I never seemed to have any meaning in my life. Nothing extraordinary, no "miracle". I kept on questioning this faith. And then one day, it happened; I moved churches. In the beginning, the Gospel preached there was vague and the same thing I heard over and over again, and honestly I was reluctant to go to church. But being a kid and all, that was not an option as I was basically dragged around everywhere by my folks, especially to church. After a couple of years, I started to realize something with the Gospel being preached at this particular church, which is NCCKL. It was no longer the same "grace" messages or worldly ideas being preached by the pastor or other people. It was different. Peculiar in the beginning, but as I started to hear it more and more, it made so much more sense than what I've been hearing for 11 years. This Gospel that I heard, was none other than the Gospel of the water and Spirit. And finally, my life had meaning again. Finally I found a reason to live. But not because of something I did or tried to do, but because of what Christ has done for me. In this Gospel, there are 3 crucial elements, that one true believer needs to know; water, blood and Spirit. Although before this I never understood what the water was and is, I now understand it's true meaning and it's importance in not only my life, but the life of every individual, sadly, many people lack it. God chose one man to represent all of mankind, not because God liked him more than another, but because he was qualified (Luke 1:5) to lay his hands onto Jesus and baptize Him. And he is no other, than John the Baptist. The laying on of hands here not only has a physical meaning, but spiritually, this is where Jesus took upon Himself all the sins of the world and became our personal sin bearer. The one thing about this Gospel, is that questions need to always be asked so that our faith could grow to become stronger and greater. One of them was "How do you know that Jesus took our sins at His baptism?" Firstly, we have to refer to the Old Testament as it is a shadow of the New Testament. They coincide with one another. So in the Old Testament, in order to atone for the sins of Israel, the high priest (Aaronic priesthood) would lay his hands on an unblemished animal, and pass the sins of Israel onto the animal which was then killed, and Israel was sent scot-free. However, this atonement was merely a temporal thing as the blood of an animal couldn't sustain long enough. This sacrificial atonement was first done per individual, then moved on per family, and then for an entire nation. However, it still wasn't enough; and that's where the New Testament takes place. (Note: This sacrificial atonement which is merely a foreshadow of what Christ will come and do for mankind has been carried out since the beginning of time as it can clearly be seen in the Garden of Eden after God covered Adam and Eve with the skin of an animal and banished them for the Garden) God knows that mankind will only keep on sinning. From the day they are born, to the day they die. However, He knows that sin shouldn't be a barrier between man, and that's why He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Because only Jesus could break that barrier known as "sin". Jesus represents the unblemished animal in the Old Testament, whereas John the Baptist represents the high priest because he comes from the lineage of Aaron. Now, as mentioned before, when John laid his hands on Jesus, he passes all the sins of the world onto Him. And that's also why John later on refers to Jesus as "The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world" in John 1:29. Then Jesus lived His life for us for 3 years where He was hated on, bruised, vilified, stricken, bruised, shamed and so on. But, why? And exactly why did He die? Romans 6:23 says "For the wages which sin pays is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"- What this verse clearly means is that sin=death. And rightfully, we all deserve to die. We all deserve to be ridiculed, and spit at and so on because of sin. But Jesus did it all for us on our behalf. When He took our sins upon Himself at the river of Jordan, it was basically a death sentence. But what did He do about it? He accepted it on our behalf, because it was the Father's will; the Will of God. So Jesus had to die, it wasn't an option for Him. And when He did, He descended into Hell, yet again on our behalf as that's where we all are supposed to go (due to unbelief) and on the 3rd day, He resurrected. Sorry for the long winded story, but I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. On a spiritual level, I was baptized with Christ and into His death, and I resurrected into a new life. But not one of my own; His life. The moment I had faith to believe, I could feel the Holy Spirit working in my life, and that's also the reason why I'm able to talk about what Christ has done for me. This walk is not an easy one. With more than 7.4 billion people in this world, everyone walks with their own beliefs and religion. But Christ, is more than that. He's more than a religion, He's more than just knowledge. He's everything. In my day-to-day walk, there are many "Christians" who portray themselves to be children of God through their own efforts, works and deeds as I did before I came to know this Gospel. The difference that I now know, is that it has nothing to do with who I am, was and am going to be or my abilities, talents, works and deeds. It does however have everything to do with what Christ has done for me at His baptism, death and resurrection. The world teaches you what to do, and how to be and act perfect. God however teaches you that perfection can only be found in His Son. We will sin till the day we die, and that's an undeniable fact. But what God wants us to know as it says in Hebrews 8:12 and Hebrews 10:17 that our sins, He will remember no more. And I truly believe that. This isn't however a free ticket to sin. This is my faith. I believe in what Christ has done for me at His baptism, death and resurrection and I will keep on declaring that I am in fact sinless and righteous not because of my own works and deeds, but because of what my Lord has done for me. No longer do I heed to what other people have to say, but only to what my God has to say. I'm no longer on that road of destruction many are on, but on the path of life. But I would love to be able to preach this Gospel thoroughly to more individuals so that they too can follow Christ and walk the same path I am walking on. For before I was lost, now I am found. I was once dead, now I've been made alive. I was once blind, but now I see. Once deaf, now I hear. Sin no longer has it's bounds over me, nor do the words of other people. One thing is for certain, and that's that I may be in this world, but I am not of this world.
