“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually” (1 Corinthians 12:27)

1 Corinthians chapters 1–16 remind the saints who were divided by putting forward Paul and Apollos, and who turned away from a hungry brother at the Lord’s Supper, of the reason they have become one body. This body was not gathered by human zeal. In order to have all the sins of the world, even our lifelong sins, passed on to Him once and for all, Jesus, the Son of God, received baptism from John; because of those sins He received on the Cross, in our place, the judgment we were to receive, and shed His blood and died; and He rose again from death. Since we have become members by believing in this one salvation together, there is no brother for us to regard as insignificant.
