“We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain” (2 Corinthians 6:1)

In 2 Corinthians chapters 1–13, Paul shares the comfort he received in tribulation, turns the saints around with a letter of tears, and speaks of the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to him, who is like an earthen vessel, of the offering to help the poor saints, and of the grace of the Lord that is sufficient even with a thorn in the flesh. This grace is that Jesus, who is God, bore our sins and all the sins of the world through the baptism He received from John, paid in our place, by shedding His blood on the Cross, the judgment that was to be received because of those sins, and rose again from death and made us righteous people. For us, who have been made alive by this grace, to preach the word we have received to other souls is the way not to receive grace in vain.
