For the Lost Sheep (I) Book Review

Focusing on John`s gospel, the author begins the preface by saying, "One must present the gospel of the water and the Spirit if told to present the Truth of salvation for sheep who have spiritually gone astray."

This instruction is given to those who have received the remission of their sins by believing in the baptism and blood of Jesus, the gospel of the water, and the Spirit. A person who is still a lost sheep does not know that they are born in sin and therefore heading to hell. To understand more about inherent sins, the first chapter is titled, "Must we go and Wash in the Pool of Siloam?"

Looking at the blind man, the disciples asked Jesus if this man sinned or his parents. To this, Jesus replied, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him" (John 9:3).

Our loving Lord explained to His disciples and to us that we are born as a mass of sin. This is through no fault of our own, but so that God alone could be glorified. We were born in sin because of our ancestors. But we can now receive the remission of our sins by believing in the baptism and blood of Jesus. The choice of where to spend eternity, heaven or hell, is solely ours. Believe in the gospel and enter heaven, or go to hell through disbelief.

Once a person is born again of water and the Spirit, God then looks after them in His Church. "Those who have truly met Jesus Christ" is the name of the next title. It begins by explaining just how much God loves and takes care of His children. In His Church is where we serve the gospel and prosper under the loving care of our Father. 

This book is a beautiful guide and help to us the born again and also to the lost sheep. We were all lost sheep. But we can now be found by believing in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. God wants the whole world to come and be gathered together in His Church through this one faith. God is looking for His lost sheep, and so it is our lifelong duty as the born again to serve the gospel and pray for the lost sheep. May God bless His Church forever, and we pray for the souls that are tormented by their sins that they believe in the gospel preached by God`s Church in this world.
